Project Portfolio
Project I: Digital Collage

This project was all about creating your own personal sanctuary. Any place, fictional or not, and so I chose this. Whenever I think of a relaxing environment, something like this comes to mind.
Project II: Vector Poster

This project involved creating a vector image of a previously-existing one. I designed this image based off of the 2015 trailer for ARK: Survival Evolved. The assignment involved creating some sort of message, like a commentary or a perspective, though I thought it'd be more fun to make it more entertainment-based.
Project III: Soundwalk
This project was about creating an audio story based on a theme of our choice. The audio is intended to paint a picture in our minds without using any actual images. I chose to do a fictional but realistic story that takes place at my work with a creepy/unsettling feel as this was a Halloween-theme audio story. The idea was inspired by 'creepypasta' videos with this type of narration and storytelling.
Project IV: Video
Similarly to Project III, this assignment revolved around a theme and we created a non-narrative video surrounding it. A compilation-style video that doesn't tell a story but rather paints a picture about something. I chose appliances as they're everyday objects that everyone's used to and made for a good compilation. The video itself was inspired by a satirical type of content called 'slander videos'.
Project V: Stop Motion Animation
This project was the most engrossing one of all as it involved making a stop-motion-style animated short. This video did revolve around a narrative and was more technically-involved. I went with a Christmas theme for the story since whenever I think of stop-motion, I always think of the old classics like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, The Year Without a Santa Claus, Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town, and some others. I also figured this would be a good opportunity to mix animation mediums. The primary focus, of course, was the stop-motion, but I wanted to enhance it with some 3D and accent it with 2D as well.
Exercises
Exercise I: Sanctuary Image

This exercise preceded Project I, it was just about picking our place of choice and inserting ourselves via Photoshop before finalizing the idea.
Exercise II: Vector Graphic

This exercise involved choosing an existing logo, manually tracing it in Illustrator with vector tools and then modifying it in some way. I thought it'd be fun to make a fake Apple logo with a pineapple instead.
Exercise III: Sound Scavenger Hunt
This exercise was used to help grasp working with audio using Audition. It involved us putting a spin on 12 prompts with broad descriptions like "quiet sound" or "fast sound" and recording the audio for it.
Exercise IV: Video
This exercise was about videography, picking any action and recording it 3 times from different angles. I chose making PB&J sandwiches, not just because I was in the mood, but because I liked the idea of doing a cooking video-style skit where there are multiple cameras set up showing the chef making the food.
Exercise V: Stop Motion GIF

This exercise was a to help test out stop-motion animation using Photoshop. It revolved around a verb from Richard Serra's list of verbs. I chose 'to fold' and used a dish towel for the video.
